QAL Champions 2019

February 24, 2019

The five year plan was achieved on February 24th 2019 As Manager Keith Young lead Pearl F.C to the title and paid tribute to the staff and players who have helped achieve this amazing football fairytale.

“Winning this title and becoming the first English manager to do so is a testament to hard work, belief and being very fortunate to have amazing staff Kennie Gammie, Roy Gadsby, Mike Brady, Alex Jeannin, Simon Pratt, Paul Horseman, Ciaran Kelly and Steven Gough.

We have had and still have some exceptional players at key times throughout the five year campaign since we started in 2014, a big mention to both skippers Niall Keogh and Nacho Romero two top footballers with hearts of steel. I’d like to thank Steven Gough my assistant who has been right there through thick and thin and he will agree we didn’t achieve this by luck, it was by design as we have grown stronger over many obstacles and testing times to become champions.

We have gotten over 7-0 defeats and bottom half finishes to keep progressing every season to accomplish winning the Qatar Amateur League, something can make so many life changing differences for many people. Our Academy is situated in one of the best facilities in Doha and from 2017 has grown in the community and is a flagship of youth progression and opportunity. We are blessed to have Qatari President Nawaf Al Mudahka who remains a pillar of support and a fantastic structure as we now move into the realms of professional football.

I also would like to thank all of our past and present sponsors and supporting suppliers, our families and the QFA supporting this dream to become reality on February 23rd 2019”.

The next chapter with Lusail SC is going to be huge, built on these foundations.
